The Yamaha NSIW960 2-Way Speaker is an excellent choice for use as a Center speaker. It works well due to its design as a 3-way speaker and is directional. The speaker is available in two versions priced differently using different materials in the cones, with the more expensive option offering better performance. The product comes with one speaker in a box, and the snap-on front cover can be painted to match wall colour. The speaker is shielded, so it can be installed close to a TV or other electronics without issues. Mounting horizontally requires cutting the stud, but it is not an issue and takes a few minutes to do. The speaker can be mounted either on the ceiling or between studs as per preference. The center channel speaker is the most important component in surround sound systems and usually has at least one tweeter and two midrange/full-range cones instead of one. A normal two-conductor speaker wire is needed to run this speaker.
