Answer: The riser is made of durable polystyrene treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking. -

Does a submersible sump pump need a drain basin?
Answer: Any water pump needs some place to dump its outlet water. The water out can be piped to a regular storm drain or perhaps to a creek bed etc. -

How are these installed?
Answer: You can use them as the cover to a drywall or install them on top of a plastic box sold by the same manufacturer. -

How do you safely remove the grate for annual maintenance?
Answer: Just pull up, may need to remove screws if these were used to hold it down. May need to use a hook to pull it up. -

Can I drive a car over it?
Answer: In my opinion, I don't think it would support the weight of a car. Mine is installed in the middle of my backyard lawn. -
