About This Item
The Celestron T-Adapter Wide 48mm EdgeHD 9.251114 is the ultimate accessory for astrophotographers who want to attach their full frame DSLR or astronomical camera to a Celestron EdgeHD optical tube. With the increasing size of CCD chips, the 48mm T-Adapter was designed to reduce vignetting and provide a larger light path to your camera's sensor, resulting in exceptional astrophotos. The 48mm T-Adapter has a larger T-Thread opening, allowing the unhindered light to illuminate the entire sensor, which optimizes your full-frame sensor's capabilities. Compared to the standard 42mm T-Adapter, the 48mm T-Adapter reduces vignetting at the corners of full frame imaging sensors, producing images with better illumination.
Please note that the 48mm T-Adapter is not recommended for imager with smaller APS-C sensors. We recommend the Celestron 42mm T-Adapter (#93646) and 42mm T-Rings for your specific model of camera instead. T-Rings are sold separately, and you can find them for popular Canon, Nikon, and Sony Cameras. Celestron does not offer 48mm T-Rings, but we recommend the ones sold by Sky-Watcher USA, as they offer the most popular models for Canon, Nikon, and Sony cameras.
