The Ovente BGI201S infrared cooktop has received mixed reviews. Customers have been able to use cast iron and Glass (Pyrex) cookware on it, but it is not suitable for use on electric ranges or induction cooktops. It has a small fan located at the back that makes as much noise as a typical desktop PC. If the power is cut before the fan finishes, it may reduce the life of the electric cooktop. The temperature settings range from 280°F to 896°F. It has a weight capacity of 6.6lbs maximum. Some customers have reported that it is not strong enough to boil water in a reasonable amount of time.
