The kit has a grate installed at the bottom to provide drainage when you water the plants, and it has a reservoir at the base that you fill with water to keep your plants hydrated. The kit comes with instructions, and you can follow the diagram to know what to plant in the kit. In a Junior size kit, you can plant mostly herbs or strawberries.
