Answer: the ends are larger than the hose diameter. I believe that is the difference you are detecting. -

Is it normal that top end leak air continuously even when you’re not exhaling?
Answer: Yes, if the air is coming from the blow out valve on the mask (the little flapper valve- it’s a safety so that if you lose power you won’t suffocate and die). If the air is leaking from the tube itself or where it joins to the mask, no, it’s not normal.
