Can I connect more than three fans using this cable?
Answer: No, this cable is specifically designed to connect three 4-Pin PWM fans. -

Answer: Yes, the tachometer wire is only included on one lead for accurate RPM monitoring. -

I received my splitter today, but is it normal for 2 of the 3 splitters have 3 pins arranged in a 2 pin 1 blank and 1 pin orientation?
Answer: Yes, it is normal for 2 of the 3 splitters to have 3 pins arranged in a 2 pin 1 blank and 1 pin orientation. The other one should have 4 pins. This is designed to use 3 fans that are the same type, and since they are, then you do NOT need the RPM/SPEED information of all 3, just 1. You must plug this into a 4-PIN header on the motherboard to get full functionality out of this splitter, along with 4-PIN fans. If you plug this into a 3-PIN, you will severely limit, if not at all be able to control with any accuracy. -
Question:
I thought mobo's couldn't power more than 2 fans?
Answer: Most modern motherboards have way more than 2 fan connectors, but some cases have 6 or 8 fans and this is where the splitter comes in handy. -
Question:
Can this be used to control non-pwm (slave) fans if at least one (master) fan connected is pwm?
Answer: Yes, you can put it on there and will control it, to some degree. It just depends on the fan really. Some of them you can modulate, some cannot be. Either way, it will still allow the main PWM to work as normal, but now you may merely have an on/off on the secondary, or VERY little control on it. -
Question:
I'm confused. So do all 3 of the fans (assuming they are all 4-pin PWM) connected to this splitter automatically adjust their speed together?
Answer: No, only ONE of the split ends is a true 4-pin male (PWM), compatible with the CPU fan header on the motherboard. The other two are standard 3-pin male fan connectors. From my understanding, this is the correct configuration for this type of splitter. -
Question:
Will a single header on the mobo be able to power 3 fans without burning up?
Answer: Depends on the amperage of your fans. Most MB fan headers support 1Amp. -
Question:
I have 3 (3) pin fans with led on them will those work fine with this fan splitter?
Answer: Yes, it will work fine with 3-pin fans with LED on them.
