The HIKVISION HD Smart 4 Megapixel PoE Dome IP Outdoor Surveillance Camera is a solidly built, larger and heavier bullet camera with a cast aluminum and plastic housing, cast aluminum canopy, and powder coat like paint job. The camera comes with a mounting plate and features a variable focus 2.8mm lens, which can be angled to the right or left side after mounting to the wall. The camera works well with Synology, and the images have nicely high resolution. The 12mm lens allows the camera to focus on a person or license plate at 50 feet with enough clarity for recognition. The one thing that the reviewer didn't care for was the size of the second wire with the power and BNC connector. The camera doesn't come with US warranty and Hikvision refuses to provide firmware upgrades. A few customers have reported defective cameras or receiving a camera without PTZ motors. One customer was disappointed that they couldn't return the defective camera after 30 days, and another customer was dissatisfied with the poor customer experience and suggests avoiding this brand.
