Although it is not an extremely high-quality fine furniture grade box, it is sturdy and seems like it will hold up well if it is used for what it is designed for. The design is beautiful and works perfectly for small items such as jewelry, coins etc. Some customers complained about the velvet insert, which was glued to the inside which they claimed looked as if a toddler glued it into place. Others also complained about some defects in the hardware, such as a screw being screwed in sideways, and instead of fixing it, they bent the metal, making it challenging to use the hook. The customers loved the box but wished that the manufacturers had taken the extra step to make sure it was 100% perfect.
