The Razer Kraken USB Over Ear PC and Music Headset is a cheaply built headset that is marketed towards teenagers and early 20s. The sound quality is horrendous, even using the 7.1 setting makes everything sound like it's in a hall. The bass overpowers and the treble is almost non-existent. The hinges are not metal, but made of a silicon-like material which makes them relatively durable. The ear cups can be uncomfortable for some as they are slightly smaller and can cause slight annoyance; however, the product works well for those who wear glasses. The microphone has a mute button located directly on it that is hard to see and is not labeled. The Chroma version allows for customization of the logo on the side while the normal version does not allow any changes. The microphone has a green light on it, but it is uncertain whether the light turns on and off with microphone activation. A sound card is not required for the 7.1 setting. The product has a very good sound quality, but the ear cups can be small and uncomfortable. The USB wire can fray internally after about two years of use. The product can only last up to six months, which is unfortunate for the price of the headset.
