Answer: The purpose of a cold-air intake is to find cold air in an otherwise hot under-hood environment. It can do this by drawing air from above the hood, under the front bumper or a spot inside the engine compartment that isn't as hot as other places. -

Answer: I routed mine so the filter is right where the inlet hose was at. It comes with a mounting strap which holds it in place very well.

The B01HHB7SWC is a cold-air intake kit designed to find cold air in an otherwise hot under-hood environment. It can draw air from different locations such as above the hood, under the front bumper or inside the engine compartment. The kit has the mounting location pre-drilled and threaded for your Mas Air Flow sensor. The filter size is accurate and there is an actual horsepower gain of as much as 10 hrp. The product is easy to install, but some interpreted the instructions and ran into issues while installing the kit. There were some mixed reviews with a few customers reporting that it caused their engine to throw a lean condition code every 50 or so miles, but comments from others were positive, where customers praised the product for ease of installation, performance and looks great under the hood. In general, it seems to be a good product, but some customers have reported some issues.
