Answer: Yes, all the part numbers that end in '-3' have the new 4C technology. -

Do you have to put a battery so the 4c blue technology works?
Answer: Battery has to be in the helmet at all times for the lens to work. This helmet is 4c lens technology all the time. -
Question:
What’s the difference between this and the 3350?
Answer: The main difference between the 1840 and 3350 is the viewing window size, which is much larger on the 3350. The 3350 also has a button to switch between grind mode and weld mode, so that you can leave the shade dial where you want it and hit the grind mode on and off. To switch to grind mode on the 1840 to grind you turn the shade dial all the way off and then have to reset your dial back to the shade you prefer for your welding need. I find it a bit cumbersome and just use a grinding shield that way I’m not searching for my shade setting again. The 1840 is very nice, just depends how much grinding you plan on doing wearing your helmet.
