The JHS Clover is a great-sounding compressor that works best after any other dirt/overdrive/distortion pedals but before delay or reverb effects. The Clover can add volume and a boost effect that allows the tone of other pedals to shine through. The Clover has a moderately high input impedance, so it will not present a significant load to your guitar or any other pedal around it. It requires a 9v power supply or similar. It's great for standard guitar with the full EQ mode providing a variety of tone shaping options. The pedal has an impeccable build quality, and the compression sound is not bad; it doesn't create any noticeable noise floor. However, the pedal doesn't work as well for bass guitars as even low settings can cause distortion.
